If there’s one lesson to be taken away from The Revival’s last couple of weeks, it’s that it pays to be in good with Shane McMahon. Not only did Dash & Dawson get a Six-Man Tag win last week with Shane and Drew McIntyre in their corner, but they were introduced by Shane-O-Mac in advance of a title fight that they won, making the “Top Guys” two-time Raw Tag Team Champions.

Yes, that means the clock strikes midnight on the Cinderella story of Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins, who looked great in defeat and were simply overwhelmed by the Triple Threat chaos, with Ryder taking the brunt of a splash from a superkick-happy Jey Uso. But unbeknownst to Jey, Scott Dawson had tagged in on him before he took flight for said splash, which made Dawson the legal man. After Jey nailed the splash, Dawson threw him off the pinfall position and stole the win with some help from Dash Wilder, who held Uso’s leg as he attempted to break up the three count. The stolen pinfall was enough to hand The Revival the titles, as well as pass to Shane and Drew’s Super ShowDown celebration, where there’s champagne waiting for them on ice. Given that Dash & Dawson were getting roasted for their grooming habits and scalded by Ucey Hot below the belt a few weeks ago, that’s a remarkable turnaround that can’t be overstated.

Monday Night Raw Digitals | Raw Video Captures

It’s been all jokes for The Usos lately, especially where The Revival is concerned. But Jimmy & Jey weren’t laughing much after their bout with the former Raw Tag Team Champions — a bout the “Top Guys” requested and one that The Usos clearly thought was going to go very different. While Jimmy & Jey shimmied their way to the ring, Dash & Dawson came out swinging, throwing hands before The Usos could even get their hoodies off and forcing the twins to re-strategize almost immediately.

The Revival’s aggression eventually brought The Usos down to earth, and the match soon turned from Tag Team 101 to wild high-flying and hybrid maneuvers (Dash Wilder’s got a mean tornado DDT, it turns out) and a flat-out slugfest. The Revival did what they do best by sticking to the basics, with Dash Wilder hitting the ring to cause chaos and legal man Scott Dawson earning a tights-assisted roll-up that was as decisive as it was ill-gotten. Perhaps their post-match celebration was a little excessive (let’s be honest, they cheated), but the elation was nonetheless justified: For all The Usos’ accomplishments over the last few weeks, they forgot who they were provoking until it was too late, and what could have been a riot turned into a reality check.

Raw Digitals

Anyone who was worried that The Usos were going to slow-burn their way into the thick of Raw’s Tag Team division can rest easy: Jimmy & Jey are taking to the red waters just as expertly as they took to the blue, even notching something of a twofer in their third week as Raw Superstars by upending one team in the ring and worming their way into the psyche of another.

The team they beat? Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, back on Raw and looking for a big win against the team they ambushed on their very first night in WWE. For the most part, they made a statement, ground-and-pounding The Usos into a ditch that they narrowly escaped with stereo superkicks to Gallows and a splash from Jimmy to the big man’s torso for the 1-2-3. But the meat of their evening was the reveal of something the WWE Universe had allegedly “never” seen: A video of The Revival’s Dash Wilder shaving his partner Scott Dawson’s back.

To their credit, Dash & Dawson hit the stage and mounted a passionate defense of the arrangement — Dawson’s back is so wide as to make shaving it himself scientifically impossible, and Wilder is his best friend, so of course he’d ask his help — but The Usos’ continued mockery started to chip away at the “Top Guys’” pride. Nonetheless, they opted to put a pin in this one, at least until after their match later tonight against Raw Tag Team Champions Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins. After then? Jimmy & Jey are fair game.

Raw Digitals

In case you missed it last week, Bobby Roode & Chad Gable have embraced the chaos, thrown sportsmanship to the winds and adopted a new, markedly meaner attitude. Nastiness certainly looked good on them even in defeat, but as they learned on Raw, they have a ways to go to catch up with the inventors of the form. Following an open challenge of sorts, The Usos — who hit their stride after finding their own mean streak a few years ago — came over from SmackDown LIVE and humbled the former Raw Tag Team Champions in a nasty little match that showcased Jimmy & Jey’s sharp in-ring chops and how very, very crowded the Raw Tag Team division is becoming.

The Usos seemed to think this was going to be a cakewalk, and the glorious duo quickly convinced them otherwise, with Gable proving to be a pitbull on the mat. But when the tide turned, it turned quickly, as The Usos pounced with a series of superkicks — one to Gable, one to Roode and then two more to Gable — before finishing the Minnesota stretcher off with a Double Uce. Roode & Gable still looked great, but this was The Usos’ stark reminder to a Raw roster that might have forgotten: When it comes to all things bad — be they bad attitudes or bad men — the line forms behind them.

Wrestlemania 35 Digitals

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – For a brief moment at WrestleMania 35, the MetLife Stadium became The Uso Penitentiary as Jimmy & Jey stood tall on The Grandest Stage of Them All, defeating The Bar, Ricochet & Aleister Black and Shinsuke Nakamura & Rusev to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

The action was fast and furious right from the get-go as Aleister Black and Jey Uso traded holds, but the frantic nature of the Fatal 4-Way Match soon came into play, as members from all four teams tagged into the fray in rapid-fire succession.

The NXT upstarts looked like they had the upper hand, as Ricochet dizzied Cesaro with a dazzling headscissors takeover, but an uppercut from The Swiss Superstar stopped The One and Only right in his tracks. The Bar went on a rampage from there, as Cesaro spun Ricochet in the Cesaro Swing for minutes, while Sheamus grabbed anyone within reach and pummeled them with the Beats of the Bodhrán.

Ricochet recovered from Cesaro’s stomach-churning ride, but he was soon caught in the clutches of Rusev, who overpowered the speedy Superstar. Soon, the bout devolved into utter chaos, as a stacked superplex-powerbomb combo from the top rope brought all eight men crashing to the mat in a heap.

The relentless pace continued from there, as superkicks, Kinshasas and Black Masses were delivered with extreme precision. After Sheamus clobbered Ricochet with a Brogue Kick, though, The Celtic Warrior was all alone with Jimmy & Jey. The Usos took Sheamus down with a pair of superkicks, then crushed him with a double splash from the top rope to retain their titles.

The Usos may have left The Show of Shows with their SmackDown Tag Team Titles, but it was clear to the WWE Universe that there will be plenty of tough challenges ahead for the champions.

SmackDown Live Digitals | Video Captures

Whether The Bar can survive a Triple Threat title defense on Sunday remains to be seen, but they definitely got more than they bargained for when they challenged The Usos to a Rap Battle, as Jimmy & Jey responded to the champions’ rendition of “Ice, Ice Sheamy” by rapping circles around them and provoking a throwdown between the two teams. The New Day, who won the previous rap battle and returned to host this one, weren’t spared either, but Cesaro & Sheamus eventually cleared the ring of all challengers in a stark reminder to their opponents that while Vanilla Ice parodies may not cut the mustard in a rap battle, there’s no mistaking who’ll be under pressure when the bell rings.

With a chance to face The New Day next week for the opportunity to take on The Bludgeon Brothers for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship at SummerSlam, The Usos took on Sheamus & Cesaro on the blue brand in a high-octane contest.

The New Day provided guest commentary (from their own pancake-filled table!) as they scouted the two veteran teams, who were holding nothing back in pursuit of the massive opportunity at The Biggest Event of the Summer. Sheamus & Cesaro attempted to wear down Jimmy & Jey, showing no signs of ring rust after their break from the squared circle. However, The Usos battled back, as the match starting to look like a game of Pong on Atari with all the momentum swings.

After several chaotic exchanges, Cesaro & Sheamus caught each Uso with an Uppercut and knees to the gut respectively, allowing The Bar to pick up the clutch victory and advance to the final round. After the match, The New Day left their post and entered the ring to face off with their trash-talking opponents. The squads stared each other down for a few moments with Bi g E, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods looking ready to scrap. However, finding it wise to fight another day, Sheamus & Cesaro slowly backtracked out of the ring, clearly preferring to wait to get into it until their match next week.
